November 2018- Monthly Update

This month we said a sad farewell to Marion who has been the Changing Places Development Officer since February. We have a new Officer due to start in the New Year and look forward to introducing them to everyone!

Big news this month was the confirmation that our co-chairs, Muscular Dystrophy UK, will be working with the Department for Transport to allocate £2 million of funding to install Changing Places toilets at motoway service stations. We hope to announce details of the application process by April 2019.

We have also been meeting with representatives at the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government and held a joint APPG between Disability Rights UK and Trailblazers.

Sadly, the second reading of Paula Sherriff's Changing Places Bill has been delayed until the 25th January. We hope that many MP's will show their support and help push forward these much needed changes to legislation.

There are now 1,213 registered Changing Places toilets on our official map. There were 14 new registrations in November. These are listed below:
  1. Welcome Break Charnock (Motorway Service Station); Junction 27/28 Mill Lane, Chorley
