Martin comes a close second in the Council Worker of the Year awards
August 07
Despite many votes from
supporters, Martin Jackaman narrowly missed out on coming first in the Innovation
category at the Local Government Association Council Worker of the Year awards held in July.
Thank you to everyone who voted for Martin. The high level of support he received shows that his relentless drive and persistence in developing Changing Places toilets in Nottingham and transforming the lives of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their carers has been recognised and valued.
The votes for Martin have helped put Nottingham’s Changing places toilet on the map. By raising awareness of this important facility in Nottingham, it is hoped that more councils across the country will follow suit and provide Changing Places toilets in their areas for the many people who desperately need these facilities.
