Direct Enquiries backs Changing Places campaign

7 August 2006

Direct Enquiries, a website Home page of the Direct Enquries websiteproviding information about access for disabled people at thousands of locations throughout the UK, has given its backing to the Changing Places campaign.

Direct Enquiries is supporting the campaign by providing full access information about those locations providing Changing Places toilets, which currently includes the Trafford Centre Manchester and the National Assembly for Wales. Users of Direct Enquiries will find information about these facilities by visiting www.directenquiries.com/content/tabid/49/news.aspx or www.changing-places.org/map.asp

Direct Enquiries will also be adding relevant questions and information to their access assessments and action plans, helping raise awareness of Changing Places toilets among the thousands of businesses currently on the register.

Direct Enquiries was developed in partnership with RADAR and Employers’ Forum on Disability. The company was launched in January 2003, and in just three years the site has grown to receive over 1 million hits every month from people looking for accessible businesses.

Grant Kennedy, Chief Executive, Direct Enquiries says: “Direct Enquiries are delighted to support the Changing Places campaign. Improved access is vital not only to disabled people wishing to use shops and services around the country but also to the business owners wishing to attract new customers."

"The levels and quality of access across the UK are on the increase, and the Changing Places campaign represents another shift in attitude. However, this is still just the beginning and through our work with the Changing Places consortium we are constantly working to improve the situation.
