Congratulations to our Campaigners

15th Dec 2016

Congratulations to out Campaigners

Congratulations to all our Changing Places Campaigners, on achieving all the recent media coverage and continuing to highlight the importance of Changing Places Toilets.

The recent cover by Channel 4 News's No Go Britian, highlighted what a vital part our Campaigners play in sparking a change in attitudes towards fully accessible toilets. It showed how some of our Campaigners are asking for there to be a change in the law to building regulations. Currently the law does not require businesses or new buildings to provide a Changing Places toilet, and is not a building regulation requirement. The story covered by No Go Britain, also celebrated the great achievement of the installation of a Changing Places Toilet in Leicester City Football Club. You can watch the full story on the Channel 4 News website

Mum on a Mission Laura Moore, also sparked an article in the Independent around her Campaigning to see Changing Places toilets installed in Marks and Spencer’s stores and Cineworld premises.

We can look forward to receiving coverage from the BBC, Campaigner Dawn Fidler from Super Josh will be talking to BBC Breakfast about the Campaign. Dawn became involved with the Campaign in 2013 around the same time as launching her Charity, Josh Wilson Brain Tumour Charity, like many others she faced the hardships of having to change her son in toilets which are not fully accessible. Since then she has been a great Advocate and supporter on the Campaign.

As we move towards the end of the year and fast approach a new year, I know that we can look forward to continuing to celebrate successes which will be brought about by our fantastic Campaigners. I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to Campaigning hard and reaching that 1000th Changing Place in 2017.
