From the Accessoloo team: "We began life at AccessoLoo providing mobile Changing Places to pop-up events, concerts and festivals across the island of Ireland and were becoming very successful until the pandemic hit the entire world and lockdowns ensued. However, we decided to use the lockdown productively and began research & development on the possibility of providing fixed location Changing Places for those client that wished for a permanent facility.

We built a test lab and were able to secure equipment and training during the summer of 2020 whilst restrictions were lifted. All of our staff are disabled and along with Access to Work staff we managed to complete our own in house Changing Places for testing etc.

That said, we were unable to put our skills to the test as another lockdown ensued. So we worked with another training team who helped us build a modular structure for us to complete a fully operational Changing Places facility. All of our hard work came together as lockdowns were being eased at the beginning of 2021 and we received our first order for a Changing Places to be installed in Larne Leisure Centre. We also secured an order for one of our modular units following the successful loan of our prototype to a local council."

We are currently marketing our new services as lockdowns continue to ease and with our ethos of employing a staff entirely of disabled people and installation on a not-for-profit basis, our message is resonating with clients. We hope to be able to achieve more sales in the coming months and further training for installation and product knowledge is already in the pipeline."
