World Toilet Day - 2015 People's Award - Approaching 800 - facebook 10,000 - #barefootchallenge

November has been a very busy month as we launched the new Changing Places map and also launched the People’s Choice Changing Places Award 2015 with our campaign sponsors Aveso.
With the 800th Changing Places on the horizon we are currently working with Aveso on some key Changing Places toilets and will be announcing some new facilities through December and into 2016.
We also registered 17 Changing Places in November making the grand total 792.

On World Toilet Day last week we launched the new Changing Places toilet map www.changingplacesmap.org.uk and were delighted with the many responses we have had from people who are using the map to find their nearest Changing Places toilet or using the new “Plan a journey” facility. More here:

We would like to thank our wonderful Changing Places campaigners across the UK who made sure that the launch was a great success. Campaigners were featured in local and national press and our presence on social media was amazing with great conversations on facebook and almost a million potential impressions on twitter.

Sarah Mitchell has been working constantly on updating all that is happening on the Changing Places facebook page which has now exceeded 10,000 likes (currently 11,078). With nearly 4,000 followers on twitter our social media presence is amazing.

The #barefootchallenge which was created by one of our great campaigners has inspired a lot of reaction on social media and also on BBC radio.

Consortium members Pamis celebrated with a week of events to raise awareness of the need for more Changing Places across the UK. On World Toilet Day members of Pamis attended the official opening of the new facility at the Galashiels Interchange here:http://changingplaces.uktoiletmap.org/toilet/view/785

In London on World Toilet Day, we visited a day service in Leyton for young people with learning disabilities to promote the Changing Places campaign.

Over the next two months we will we working with our campaign sponsors Aveso who are once again supporting The People’s Choice Changing Places Award. Voting is now underway to find 2015’s most popular Changing Places with our campaigners.
