Supporting Parallel London

We were delighted to be invited to attend the launch today (3rd February 2016) of “Parallel London” at the London Aquatics Centre in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

On Sunday 4 September 2016, London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will play host to the world’s first fully accessible and inclusive mass participation run for everyone of all abilities. The aquatics centre has its own Changing Places toilet (here) so there are now three within the Olympic Park itself and two at Westfield Shopping Centre close by.

The ambition of Parallel London is to encourage, enable and bring together thousands of people from around the country to join in this unique, large-scale disability-led experience. The ethos is all about ‘shared experience’, with everyone participating in the run together at the same time. Parallel London is not just about a race against the clock, but about embracing the spirit of togetherness and everyone crossing the finishing line. There will be a range of running distances from 100m to 10km for you to choose from. So whether you run, wheel or walk Parallel London has something for you.

You can find out more about the event here.

We will be working with our campaign sponsors Aveso to promote the event and with five Changing Places toilets in the area,  this has to be one of the most accessible events in the country this year.
